Tests available
- Blood tests — used to check things like blood counts, sugar levels and organ function
- Urine tests — used to look for infection, kidney problems and other conditions
- Stool tests — used to look for infection and digestive problems
- Semen analysis — used in fertility assessment
Preparing for your test
Some tests need preparation and others don't. Always follow the instructions from your doctor or the lab. In general:
- Some blood tests require fasting — the lab will tell you if yours does
- Urine and stool samples should be collected in a clean container from the lab
- Semen analysis usually requires a short period of abstinence beforehand — ask the lab for exact instructions
- Keep taking your regular medicines unless your doctor tells you otherwise
What to expect
- 1
Bring your test request
Bring the doctor's prescription or test request so the lab knows exactly which tests are needed.
- 2
Sample collection
A blood sample is taken, or you are given a container and instructions for other samples.
- 3
Testing
Your sample is processed by the lab.
- 4
Your report
Ask at the lab when your report will be ready. Take it back to your doctor to discuss the results.
What to bring or prepare
- The doctor's prescription or test request
- Previous reports, so results can be compared
- Water to drink (unless fasting) — it makes blood collection easier
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to fast before a blood test?
Only for certain tests, such as some blood sugar or cholesterol tests. Your doctor or the lab will tell you if fasting is needed and for how long.
When will my report be ready?
It depends on the test. Ask at the lab when you give your sample, or call +91 88955 87127.
Can tests advised by the clinic's doctors be done here?
Yes. If Dr. Nayak or Dr. Pradhan advises a blood, urine or stool test, it can be done at Sarojini Patholab on Station Road.
